چکیده
This paper concerns a class of orbital integrals in Lie algebras over p-adic fields. The values of these orbital integrals at the unit element in the Hecke algebra count points on varieties over finite fields. The construction, which is based on motivic integration, works both in characteristic zero and in positive characteristic. As an application, the Fundamental Lemma for this class of integrals is lifted from positive characteristic to characteristic zero. The results are based on a formula for orbital integrals as distributions inflated from orbits in the quotient spaces of the Moy-Prasad filtrations of the Lie algebra. This formula is established by Fourier analysis on these quotient spaces.

متن کاملMotivic Proof of a Character Formula for Sl(2) Clifton Cunningham and Julia Gordon
We give a motivic proof of a character formula for depth zero supercuspidal representations of p-adic SL(2). We begin by finding the virtual Chow motives for the character values of all depth zero supercuspidal representations of p-adic SL(2), at topologically unipotent elements. Then we find the virtual Chow motives for the values of the Fourier transform of all regular elliptic orbital integr...

متن کاملThe Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) Gene Polymorphisms Fok1 In Obese Pakistanis– a Preliminary Report
Objective: The role of vitamin D has soared to a pinnacle in recent years with functions affecting 229 human genes linked to cardiovascular, autoimmune, humoral, pulmonary and neurological diseases. Relationship between obesity and vitamin D has not as yet been fully established. The objective of the study was to determine the possible relationship between Vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorp...
